A Family Connection was created by myself, who like many lives a solitary lifestyle. At the age of 11, I lost my family through tragic circumstances and began living a life that was dissimilar to that of my peers. I have little life experience of what it is like to be part of a biological family and more experience of facing the challenges of solitary living in a world that appears to cater to those with extended support systems.

In the past several years, I have encountered an increased number of people wishing to discuss the feelings of aloneness, and the challenges of being solitary whether through choice, loss or happenstance. It is my belief that we are progressing more into these lifestyles but we do not have to allow it to be dominent in our lives.

My business mission is to give those individuals who feel or are solitary, support with the challenges it presents, the opportunity to rid ourselves of disconnection in times of need, to provide a feel of belonging and a place to join others on a similar path. It is also part of my mission to instill the feeling of safety by allowing, only through choice, the conversing on the message board and the sharing of limited personal information.
