How does A Family Connection stay in contact with me?
The Subscriber is allowed to choose whether they would like to receive one or two emails per day (am or am/pm). The emails will be informative and will ask for the Subscriber to reply so that we know all is well. In fact, just a return of the email in response can be sufficient. If the Subscriber has questions and/or comments, they are welcome to correspond with our office.
Do I need to give the office all my personal information?
No. Privacy is a matter of necessity and safety among individuals who live solitary lives. You can give us as much or as little information as you feel comfortable. We encourage you to supply us with employer, co-worker, friend, neighbor or local authority telephone phone numbers or email addresess so that we can contact them in the case we do not hear from you.
What happens if you do not hear from me?
This will be an option for you when you sign up for our services. You will fill out the time frame you feel most comfortable with as to when we begin contacting your contacts. Some people are comfortable waiting a few days, while others will want to wait only a few hours after the morning's email. This will be something you will decide.
May participants contribute to the monthly newsletter?
Definitely! Solitary living is addressed very little in this society and tips for more successful living is useful to share! We discuss mobility tips for seniors, shortcuts in housekeeping, cutting costs in repairs and purchases, and a host of other topics. We cater to those in the large cities all the way to those living "off the grid." We can all learn from each other and appreciate the wisdom shared by Seniors.
Will my personal information be shared with others?
Only in the case of an emergency and with the emergency numbers you provide. The owner of this business is also a solitary person and who values the consideration of privacy and security.
Is my information sold to other companies for email advertising?
Never. The less spam email we all receive, the better.
How can I be sure that other outside software will not obtain my information?
In conjunction with the award-winning Symantec 360 software, our web pages and stored information are Identity-safe, safeguarded against hackers and outside phishing software and unable to be traced by spy software. Computers are scanned and updated daily as part of a scheduled routine maintenance by the Symantec corporation.
How will I fill out and return the membership form ?
The membership form was created in Word 1997-2003 so that it is more acceptable by various word software. Instructions will be sent with your subscription on how to download and resend the form. If there are complications, we are here to help you with other types of word processing software.
How will I pay for my subscription?
Your subscription is paid through PayPal financial services, though you do not have to have a PayPal account. PayPal bills directly through personal credit cards as well. We use PayPal financial services due to their safe and secure billing procedures. All financial information is kept between you and PayPal financial services and A Family Connection does not have access to this information. We only receive an email notification that services have been paid.
Why A Family Connection as opposed to other emergency services?
A Family Connection offers a more personal approach for those wishing more one on one communication -- not just when you need emergency services. You will receive correspondence on a daily basis and have access to the optional message board 24 hours a day for one low price.
Is A Family Connection a dating service?
No, that is not the basis of our service. A Family Connection does not advocate its message board for the advertisment of mates or spouses and will intervene if any of its members experience harrassment. If, however, two people choose to meet through our service but on an outside basis, this is entirely up to consenting individuals. A Family Connection does advocate its members to be protective of whom they give their email address and any personal information to.
Can I suspend or cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. Your subscription can be suspended or canceled by discontinuing your payments through PayPal financial services.
